How Did It All Start?

As an artist I always experimented with various techniques and I love doing anything creative. Before the lockdown my Wedding Sketching business was starting to go well. Which wasn’t to last, as the whole wedding industry was hit very hard. Not giving up on it but wondering what else I could do, I remembered the time when I was making silk scarves just for myself and as presents for friends and family. The feedback was great and people seemed to love my scarves. And I loved making them. But I was busy with other things so it didn’t continue. At least, not back then.

But at this time I decided to go for it and take it to the next level. Did a lot of research, learning, went through a large amount of silk and various paint/dye types experiments and after many months I reappeared at the other end, with scarves I was finally happy with. I wasn’t much interested in the typical white line border and colour-in approach, the usual silk painting techniques. I wanted something more organic, more soft and natural, that would work well as a scarf too. My patterns are basically sketches on silk. All free-hand drawn, no stencils. And I am proud to say so, I see them as a wearable art. Not all my scarves have a pattern, some are just colours blending together, but they are all unique. I have also added botanical printed scarves, which use natural dyes and actual leaves that leave their prints on the silk. Each of these is one-of-a-kind as well.

So if you get one of my scarves, each one is original. I might make a similar one again but it will never be exactly the same. I don’t think I will ever stop learning and experimenting, but I will always make sure what I offer is of high quality and will last.

Let me know if you have any questions, I am always happy to help!
